Don-
I think it's the same for me... Kennedy and Carter, even though I was just a little kid for Kennedy's election (Bob LaMendola lifted me up to shake his hand when he made a round through the crowds in Dayton... and Carter- well, I was in college and couldn't stay up late enough to hear the outcome, so my roommates had to tell me the news the next morning.
For this current presidential election, I'm not, as you say, "excited", just disappointed in the whole thing. When I was 17, my mother ran for mayor of Kettering. That was under the influence of Eddie. We had to go door to door and campaign for her and I had a sign on top of my car as I drove all around town from school to pools and other places. My birthday is November 6th and that year,I turned 18 on election day! I got to vote for my mother for mayor. She came in second place out of 3. Good job, mom! Now, that was exciting! Jill
